If wishes were nickels...then we’d all be rich…
It’s been a wishy week for me. I’m not the sort who indulges in wishes very often, but every once in a while, I wish:
- I could turn back time
- The one callback I’ve waited for all day wouldn’t come when I finally dashed to the bathroom
- When someone forgot to write a signing event on the store calendar they’d be man/woman enough to admit it
- I had time to call and talk to each of my clients at least a time or two each month
- I was promoting my own work
- I'd finally nabbed someone a spot on Oprah
- Radio hosts who don’t keep office hours would actually return phone calls
- I had time to go to the lake more often
- I liked going to the gym more than I like chocolate
- I could do better for a great author when I can’t due to circumstances beyond my control (substandard publisher, poor editing, horrible cover art, etc)
- I didn’t have to get up at the crack of dawn to catch morning show producers (I'm NOT a morning person by nature)
- I could catch that green ball that QBert used to catch that allowed him to run around doing things while the clock was frozen
- I didn’t remember that the price of a stamp when I got married was $.05 and gas was $.25 a gallon
- I always had the arcs I need when I need them
- It was easier to make sure some authors have realistic expectations
- There wasn’t so much rejection in my line of work – it makes it hard to keep staff sometimes
- I could make more wishes come true for authors who work very hard to get where they are
What do you wish for?
